The foundation stone of Dr. Vibhuti Narain Singh Gangapur Campus ,Gangapur, Varanasi was laid by then Hon’ble Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi and Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shree T. V. Rajeswar Ji in the chairmanship of then Vice-chancellor Prof. Surendra Singh on November 21, 2004. It is spread over 43 acres of land area having close proximity to the old fort of Gangapur, located in Gangapur town area of Varanasi district. The entire land of the campus has been made available to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi by Dr. Anant Narain Singh, chairman of Maharaja Kashi Raj Dharma Karya Nidhi on 99-year lease with a view to up-gradation of rural health and education. The campus is named after late Maharaja Dr. Vibhuti Narain Singh, the last king of kingdom of Kashi. It is the first extension campus of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi established as its integral part with the basic objective of imparting quality higher education including research and extension facilities to the students of rural area with an eye to ensure inclusive growth in higher education. The campus is dedicated to man-making in the light of ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of nation.
